Colorado Private Estate Network (CPEN)

By the very nature of what we do, discretion is foundational to everything. Estate managers, directors of residences, and private service professionals serve some of Colorado's most prominent families—yet that same discretion keeps most of us behind the gates, invisible to peers who navigate the same unique challenges every day.

The result is often a solitary profession. You're expected to have every answer, yet there are no colleagues to consult, few peers who understand your world, and little community to turn to when you need resources you don't yet have.

The Colorado Private Estate Network (CPEN) was founded to change that.

CPEN is a community of 65+ Colorado-based private service professionals dedicated to supporting one another within our niche and often opaque industry. We bring connection where isolation once defined the role—a trusted space built on the shared principles of discretion, excellence, and service that unite our profession.

Our Mission: Elevating Private Service Across the Rockies

"Elevate Private Service Across the Rockies"

This mission guides everything we do at CPEN.

Our principals rely on us as trusted family advisors, expecting thoughtful solutions regardless of the request. The distinctive homes and lifestyles we support require specialized trades and skilled craftsmen who simply aren't found through conventional channels. We're expected to deliver seamlessly—every time.

Here's the truth: CPEN was built on:

You don't need to know everything. You need to know the right people.

With a strong network of professionals, you gain access to resources and expertise beyond your own experience. You solve challenges more effectively, serve your principals with greater confidence, and know that a community of peers stands ready when you need them.

That's what CPEN provides: a trusted network where private service professionals support one another, share knowledge, and collectively elevate the standard of service across Colorado.

Why CPEN Exists: The Reality of Private Service

Private service is unlike any other profession. The very qualities that distinguish you in this role can also separate you from peers who share your experience:

An Invisible Profession

There are no industry directories, no professional associations with local chapters, and no clear pathways for connection. The private nature of our work means most professionals operate without visibility to others who share their expertise.

Behind the Gates

Discretion requires that we remain unseen. We don't discuss our work casually. We protect our principals' privacy absolutely—and in doing so, we step back from a professional view.

The Solitude of the Role

Most estate managers are the sole professionals in their households. There's no colleague nearby to consult, no team to workshop challenges with, no mentor readily available. You're expected to provide answers while having few people to ask.

Expected to Deliver on Everything

Your principal needs a specialist for antique restoration. The home automation system requires troubleshooting. A guest arrives with specific dietary needs. The aircraft requires detailing before tomorrow's departure.

Each day brings requests that extend beyond any single person's expertise—yet you're expected to deliver solutions gracefully, as though you've navigated this exact situation countless times.

What CPEN Provides

CPEN offers what this profession has always lacked:

  • Visibility among peers who truly understand your world

  • Connection that transforms isolation into belonging

  • Resources through trusted relationships and vetted partnerships

  • Confidence knowing your network is there when you need it

  • A safe space rooted in the shared values of discretion, excellence, and service

With CPEN, you're never truly alone behind the gates.

What CPEN Offers Our Members

CPEN delivers value through three core pillars:

Quarterly Gatherings at Distinctive Venues

Connection is at the heart of CPEN. Our quarterly events bring Colorado's private service community together in exceptional settings:

What to expect:

  • Meaningful peer connection with fellow estate managers and private service professionals who genuinely understand your challenges

  • Expert-led discussions featuring industry leaders on topics directly relevant to serving UHNW households

  • Access to distinctive venues, including private museums, aviation facilities, and notable properties

  • Introductions to trusted vendors who have demonstrated excellence in serving discerning clients

  • Unhurried networking with refreshments in a relaxed, confidential atmosphere

Our gatherings are designed for genuine relationship building—not transactional networking. Members leave with real connections, practical insights, and resources they can draw upon immediately.

Shared Knowledge & Professional Growth

The private service industry offers few formal training programs or development resources. CPEN helps fill this gap:

  • Peer conversations where experienced professionals share what works

  • Collaborative problem-solving addressing real challenges in real time

  • Awareness of emerging trends, keeping members informed of industry developments

  • Professional development, including career guidance and skill building

  • Resource sharing, including trusted vendors, proven approaches, and practical tools

When one member discovers a better solution, the entire community benefits.

Trusted Vendor Relationships

Serving UHNW households requires access to specialized service providers who meet exacting standards. CPEN cultivates relationships with vendors who understand our unique requirements:

  • Proven providers with established track records serving high-net-worth families

  • Specialized expertise in areas specific to luxury properties and discerning clients

  • Preferred access connecting members to high-value resources

  • Ongoing accountability through community feedback and consistent standards

Our vendor partners earn their place through demonstrated excellence—not paid placement.

CPEN Events: Meaningful Experiences, Lasting Connections

From our inaugural gathering to today, CPEN events have brought Colorado's private service professionals together around thoughtful conversation, distinctive experiences, and genuine relationships.

How It Began

CPEN started with a simple observation: Colorado's private service professionals were eager for connection, yet no community existed to bring them together.

The inaugural gathering drew an overwhelmingly positive response. The turnout and quality of conversation confirmed what we had hoped—professionals in this often-invisible industry welcomed the opportunity for peer connection and mutual support.

That first evening reinforced our commitment to continuing these gatherings. What began as a single event has grown into a thriving network of 65+ professionals, with quarterly gatherings at some of Colorado's most distinctive venues.

Leadership: Andrew H. Beardsley

CPEN was co-founded by Andrew H. Beardsley, a Colorado-based estate manager and Director of Residences with over a decade of experience serving UHNW families.

Andrew recognized that Colorado's private service professionals lacked the peer community found in markets like Los Angeles, New York, and Palm Beach. Estate managers here often worked in relative isolation despite serving some of the nation's most distinguished families.

CPEN was created to address that gap: a professional community shaped by someone who understood the solitude of the role firsthand, designed around the principles of discretion, excellence, and mutual support that define our profession.

"Private service can be a solitary profession. You're behind the gates, expected to provide every answer, yet you have few peers to consult. CPEN gives Colorado's private service professionals something invaluable—a community that understands, resources when you need them, and the assurance that you're not navigating this alone."

— Andrew H. Beardsley, Co-Founder

In addition to his role with CPEN, Andrew operates Colorado Estate Management, providing fractional estate management services to UHNW families throughout Denver, Boulder, and Colorado's mountain communities.
